Palazzo Verdi Tower - Greenwood Village, Colo.
Kiewit Building Group Inc., a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, was selected as the construction manager/general contractor to provide design-assist services for the Palazzo Verdi Tower. The project scope for this $57 million project involves constructing a 422,000-square-foot, Class A, 15-story office tower.
The Kiewit team used the Kiewit fundamentals of real-time estimating life-cycle cost analysis, balancing the design to project budget, site infrastructure analysis and schedule development throughout the preconstruction process. The team completed the first construction documents in less than six months from the initial project meeting. Construction began in 2007 and provides a phased occupancy beginning less than 18 months after the start of construction. The scope of work includes precast and stone cladding with extensive interior stone finishes as well as a main lobby more than 40 feet tall.
The project is registered with the United States Green Building Council and is designed according to LEED Gold guidelines. Kiewit has incorporated the requirements of LEED Gold, a third-party certification program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings, while maintaining the conceptual budget and schedule throughout the design phase.
